House tour

The Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ) will present its annual Stately Homes by-the-Sea Designer Show House May 3 through June 12. This year’s featured home is the historic, Georgian-style Holly Hill house, located in Rumson. The handmade brick house is set on more than 12 acres and, true to its name, features dozens of holly trees.

“Once again, we are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to spotlight a Monmouth County classic estate as the venue for Stately Homes by-the-Sea,” says Mindy Minerva, who is co-chairing the event with Liz Thees and Nancy Mulheren. The house features many
interesting details, including decorative embossed zinc gutters and the “Aladdin Lamp” staircase, an exterior metal structure that leads up to the roof deck. More than 35 leading local designers will incorporate modern, sophisticated elements into the classic home, which was built in 1934.

Holly Hill will be open for tours Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is $35. All proceeds benefit VNACJ, the largest voluntary, nonprofit homecare agency in the state. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 732.224.6780.
